Hi, I'm Om Ulhas Darekar, a Full Stack Developer and final-year Information Technology student at Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Mumbai (CGPA 8.07).

I enjoy turning ideas into working products.

More about my background

I build with Next.js, React, Node.js, Express and MongoDB, and I use Python and FastAPI when a project needs machine learning. I like designing apps so they keep working even when something goes wrong, for example by adding backup options when a service fails.

My biggest project is CareerForge AI, a job-search platform that tailors your resume to a job, scores how well it passes ATS filters, runs AI mock interviews, and tracks your applications. I also built a Phishing URL Detector with a Chrome extension that warns you about dangerous websites. It uses a model trained on over 450,000 URLs and reaches 99.56% accuracy.

Beyond web development, I work with IoT and embedded systems. As an IoT Trainer and Mentor at V2V EdTech, I've taught Embedded C and hardware debugging and mentored 50+ interns. I've also run workshops on IoT and product design.

I've been a 3× hackathon finalist, won Project Exhibition 2024, and was runner-up at the state level TECHFUSION competition.

CareerForge AI

CareerForge AI is a tool that helps you get ready for job hunting - all in one place. You upload your resume, and it automatically rewrites it to fit the specific job you're applying for (like Software Developer, Data Analyst, etc.), and tells you how likely it is to pass through the automated filters companies use to screen resumes. Then it helps you practice for interviews by asking you realistic questions and giving you feedback on your answers, just like a real interview coach would. Finally, it helps you find matching job openings and keeps track of every application you've sent, so you always know where you stand. Basically it's like having a resume expert, an interview coach, and a job-search assistant, all built into one app.
